Operation without grease, long wear life, low friction, high abrasion resistance, and application engineering technical support provide industrial customers with bearing solutions that meet, or exceed, specifications. ThorPlas thermoplastic bearings can replace greased bronze bearings offering increased strength and rigidity allowing working pressures in an interference fit bearing up to 31MPa (4500 psi). Elastomeric polymer grades, SXL, Composite, HPSXL and XL outperform metallic and less resilient, non-metallic bearings under shock loading conditions; Thordon bearings will not “pound out” or split. Many engineers also report a significant reduction in noise levels after installing Thordon bearings.
Typical Thordon industrial bearing and wear component applications are found in pumps, hydro-turbines, sewage and wastewater treatment, pulp & paper, forest industry, sugar cane, mining, automotive manufacturing, injection molding presses, the steel industry and many others. Thorseal
Thorseal is a molded, polymer U-packing uniquely designed for hydraulic applications. Thorseal lip seals are formulated from a tough, high strength polymer impregnated with internal lubricants available in standard and custom sizes up to 100" (2.5m). Thorseals are designed to suit either piston or gland mounted applications operating in a temperature range of -50°C to 90°C (-60°F to
195°F).
